The main reason for starting the company was to meet a growing need for a quality, professional, construction and repair company to work in residential homes, condos, and commercial spaces and to build unique, custom projects that haven’t been built before. We hear from a lot of owners, who want us to “fix” something that was previously built or repaired by another company, but either still leaks, still doesn’t work, or has broken again, only a few months later. Our work is built to above industry standards, and should last a lifetime.
With a name like Quality First Construction Services (QFCS), some might say “our name says it all,” but how can a name fully represent a company. Simply, it can’t. Our name doesn’t say it all, but our completed projects and satisfied customers can attest to our level of detail and professional attitude.
We take pride in every project we are given. We live by the quote, “If you aim for perfect, you can settle for great, but if you aim for OK, you can only settle for junk.” Construction isn’t easy, and there are always surprises, so it is far better to aim for a near-perfect quality, so when the unexpected issues arise, and they will, you can sacrifice a little, and still end up with a great looking finished project. One of our main goals is to provide a memorable experience to our clients. When you hire us to complete a project, (1) we build to our own, higher standard of quality, (2) don’t expect you to be construction savvy, and (3) handle all the little stuff, to provide a simple, hassle-free, frustration-free, construction experience.
We have completed projects and performed repairs in production homes valued at $100k, custom homes valued at $9m+, and commercial spaces requiring special non-combustible construction methods. We have a wide array of experience and knowledge that allows us to work on smaller repair projects to larger residential renovations and commercial build-outs.Mike Pearson, the founder, was a construction project manager for 11 years. He has experience building multi-million dollar, student housing complexes, class A single-family dwellings, as well as high density, multi-story condominium buildings with pre-cast parking garages. Mike attended Oklahoma State University from 1999 through 2001 and graduated with an Associate Degree in Construction Management.
Before starting QFCS, Mike built and finished a local top-of-the-line luxury, 4 story condominium building in the heart of the Vista, in downtown Columbia while working for a Charleston based construction management firm. The project, The Lofts at Printers Square, was built using the latest green building standards, and used exclusive, special order materials to provide future owners an energy-efficient building like no other. The Lofts was the first mixed-use commercial building built using green building standards in South Carolina. Although, it didn’t ultimately gain a LEED certification, it was built using LEED Silver building standards, and had the developer pursued the final certification, it would have most likely been granted as the construction requirement had been met.
Mike has completed projects in the Columbia, South Carolina area, as well as Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Michigan for larger construction management companies.
However, we only work in and around the Columbia, South Carolina area.
We are NOT your typical handyman or construction company. Handyman companies have a bad reputation for shoddy, unprofessional, and incomplete work. We do perform many of the same services as a handyman, but we hold ourselves to a higher level of professionalism and quality.Repeat business is our main objective.
We strive for you to want us to work for you again!
