When fire or water damage occurs, it can be an extremely rough experience on the homeowner as they are expected to help facilitate contractors doing the remediation and restoration, while also working their regular jobs.
It is imperative that you hire responsible and professional companies to work in your home, especially if you are not able to supervise them.
While we don’t handle the immediate remediation we do handle the restoration aspect of your catastrophe.
Remediation is the first phase and must be completed as soon as possible to limit the amount of further damage. Minutes really do matter as wood products will start to soak up the water and start de-laminating and splitting the longer they are left exposed.
Restoration is the second phase and puts your home back together.
While many remediation companies provide restoration services, it is usually not completed in a professional manner. Although the catastrophe is usually paid with insurance dollars and at no cost to the owner, there is a great chance for over-pricing and fraud and most companies are not licensed for the restoration phase.
Don’t feel rushed or pressured into using a certain contractor for the restoration work.
You typically have 7 – 10 days in the case of water damage for the area to dry out. During this time, you should secure pricing from at least 2 contractors, but preferably 3.
We can handle all aspects of the restoration from sub-floor preparation and repair, cabinet repairs and installation, baseboard and trim repairs, wall repairs and painting, insulation services, carpets and hardwood flooring, to new fixture installation.
